About this cohort
The ACCME project is an integrative epidemiological research project designed to investigate biomarkers associated with cervical carcinogenesis. Specifically, ACCME aims to evaluate the interactions between the vaginal microbiome, host genetic factors and molecular variants of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) to determine correlates of viral persistence in the causal pathway of cervical cancer, a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Africa.
