About the Conference


The African Population Cohorts Consortium (APCC) is pleased to announce its inaugural Annual Conference and Participants Forum. Co-hosted by Addis Ababa University – School of Public Health, this flagship event convenes cohort study investigators, researchers, policymakers, funding partners, and health stakeholders from across Africa.

The conference serves as a critical platform to advance population and health research, strengthen stakeholder collaboration, and promote evidence-informed policy dialogue aligned with Africa’s health and climate development priorities. This landmark convening will:

  • Review progress and key achievements across APCC workstreams and member cohorts
  • Facilitate scientific exchange and strengthen collaboration across cohorts, institutions, and countries
  • Advance data harmonisation and shared methodologies around common data models and multi-cohort analysis
  • Strengthen shared research infrastructure and collaborative data systems across cohorts
  • Connect researchers, policymakers, and partners to translate cohort data into actionable policy insights
