About this cohort
Our population cohort is located in rural Salima District, in the Central Region next to Lake Malawi. Our catchment area follows the administrative boundaries of Traditional Authority Kuluunda, and over time we plan to expand to 120,000 individuals by incorporating T/A Maganga. Our population is young, with a median age of 17, and comprises mostly fisherfolk, rice and maize farmers, and informal business people.
