About this cohort
NUHDSS was designed as a platform for prospective and longitudinal research studies, and for monitoring and evaluating interventions for improving the well-being of poor urban populations. Key demographic, health, and socio-economic events collected between 2002 and 2020 include pregnancies, births, deaths, in and out migrations, marriages, health outcomes (morbidity and cause of deaths), child vaccination and nutrition status, education, wealth, and housing characteristics. These events were initially updated every four months before the number of annual visits was reduced to three and then two. Data were entered in relational or non-relational electronic databases supported by various computer programs and software.
