About the cohort
USINGA-Umlazi Surveillance Initiative to Nurture Grassroots Action-is a population-based Health and Demographic Surveillance System designed to monitor changes in health and population indicators over time. It is one of seven nodes in the South African Population Research Infrastructure Network (SAPRIN), which includes four rural and three peri-urban nodes.
