UPDATE: Conference postponed. The APCC Annual Conference, originally scheduled for 25–28 November 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has been postponed because of the current security situation in the host country. It is now provisionally scheduled for 15–18 February 2027, and the venue will be confirmed by the end of November 2026.
The African Population Cohorts Consortium’s inaugural Annual Conference will bring together the continent’s longitudinal cohorts, researchers, policymakers and partners under the theme “Connected Cohorts, Stronger Systems: Driving Africa’s Health Transformation.” The APCC Interim Steering Committee made the decision to postpone after careful assessment and extensive consultation, because the safety and well-being of all participants come first.
What this means for you
Abstracts already submitted remain valid, so there is no need to resubmit, and outcomes will be shared later. We know many delegates have already made travel plans. We regret the inconvenience and recommend waiting for the venue announcement before making new bookings.
Who should attend
The conference will bring together cohort investigators, policymakers, regional bodies, funders, data scientists and implementing partners from across the continent.
What to expect
The programme will feature plenary and scientific sessions, pre-conference workshops, consortium governance activities, and a Participants Forum, advancing harmonised, equitable population cohort science across Africa.
